Mantos Copper

Prieto Abogados advised a syndicate of local and foreign banks, including Banco de Crédito e Inversiones, BNP Paribas, Export Finance Australia, ING Capital LLC, MUFG Bank, Ltd, Natixis and Societe Generale, among others, in the negotiation and closing of a US$571.6 million project finance facility to finance the development and construction of an expansion of the Mantoverde copper mining project. In addition, Finnvera, Finland’s export credit agency, issued a commodity guarantee covering US$250 million of the debt. The financing included the negotiation of four different credit facilities, the placement of derivatives, and the implementation of a comprehensive package of local and foreign guarantees standard for this type of transaction.
