Prieto steers first green bond issue in Chile

Prieto has helped Chile’s largest sanitary company, Aguas Andinas, in the country’sfirst ever green bond offering worth 1.5 million unidades de fomento (US$68 million). Green bonds are used to fund projects that benefit the environment and give the issuer tax exemptions if certain conditions are met. Aguas Andinas will use the proceeds to fund various projects including potable water supply and sewage sanitation.
