Cristián Bay-Schmith has been a partner in Prieto since 2018. He joined the firm in 2012.
He is part of the Taxation team of Prieto, mainly involved in counseling national and international clients in diverse matters related to tax law, having a vast experience in tax planning, business reorganizations, general advice and tax litigation.
He earned his law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 2005. He has a postgraduate degree from the University of Florida (LL.M in International Taxation, 2011) and earned a Diploma in Tax Analysis and Planning at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 2006.
He is professor and director of the Tax Law department of the Universidad de Los Andes and member of the board of IFA Chile. Prior to joining Prieto, he worked in PricewaterhouseCoopers.
