EXPERIENCE
María Jesús has been Senior Associate of Prieto since 2023 and leads the Criminal Law Area.
She has extensive experience on criminal law litigation, participating in several trials before National Criminal Courts, both as a defendant and as a private prosecutor, concerning different matters, including economic crimes and highly complex crimes.
She has also advised national and multinational companies on criminal compliance matters, crime prevention, and possible cases of fraud, corruption, criminal liability of companies, money laundering, among others.
Regarding the academic field, she earned her law degree with maximum distinction from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile on 2014. Additionally, has an Msc on Crime and Criminal Justice from Leiden University (Netherlands) where she graduated Cum Laude on 2016. Also, served as an assistant professor to a postgraduate course on Criminal Law Litigation imparted on Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
