Prieto advised Engie Energía Chile on the development of infrastructure for the supply of seawater to mining and industrial clients in Mejillones, Antofagasta Region. The project repurposes existing facilities of the Mejillones Energy Complex, as part of the company’s decarbonization process, and offers a large-scale solution based on a non-continental water source, with a capacity of up to 6,000 liters per second, positioning itself as a significant alternative to meet the water requirements of the mining and industrial sectors of the Antofagasta Region. The infrastructure is currently under construction, with operations projected to begin in July 2027.
