Fernanda Carvajal is part of the Personal Data Protection, Cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence team.

She is a specialist in Personal Data Protection, Cybersecurity, Regulatory Law, and Compliance, Fernanda has advised both national and international clients on various matters, including support for their day-to-day operations, regulatory compliance assessment, market entry strategies, and the design and implementation of technology projects or initiatives involving technologies that may impact processes or individuals.

Among other activities, Fernanda has provided support on various matters to different actors in the insurance industry, participated in the establishment of agencies or branches of national and international holdings in Chile, assisted in corporate restructuring, M&A processes, and Due Diligence, and contributed to the design of technological tools aimed at supporting the industry or providing services to the public. She has also advised on the drafting and negotiation of technology-related contracts and the development of data management strategies. Additionally, she has conducted risk assessment processes and supported the implementation of Crime Prevention Models in response to the Economic Crimes Law.

Currently, her work focuses on the implementation of new data protection, cybersecurity, and information management laws and regulations. She also supports the industry in compliance matters and disputes involving technological aspects, data management, or cybersecurity, providing comprehensive legal advice to organizations in their compliance assessment, process development, strategy formulation, and adaptation of policies, contracts, and other legal documents.

Fernanda joined Prieto in 2025. Before that, she worked at Alessandri Abogados as an associate in the intellectual property area and at Kennedys Law, where she served as an associate in the Insurance, Compliance, Corporate, and Regulatory Law areas.
